 Dear AMDA:

Upon looking at a job website, I became aware of your desire to engage a instructor in ballet and contemporary.I am interested in talking to you about that position. My name is Jade Vosa-Baigrie and I am a performing arts student at Westminster Kingsway College.

I have always had a keen eye for dance since my mother signed me up for ballet classes when I was five years old; however I was never really determined enough to carry on dance until I realised that I wanted a career in the performing arts industry.I first started ballet at Vestry School of Dance and Performing Arts then I developed around the age of 10-11 into doing Musical Theatre classes alongside ballet. I took part in the shows that my dance school produced every two years with my first show being in 2006 and my last 2012. I also went to the summer schools every year. I briefly did contemporary with Vestry too. At the summer school, I was taught Acting, Singing, Tap, Musical Theatre and more.

In July 2016, I did work experience at Hallsville School of Ballet where I was assisting and observing classes, doing a bit of admin work and also helping with uniform stocks. I was then invited to the show that I had been assisting with, where I was able to see the dancers I had taught. I later joined Hallsville for a while where I studied Ballet and Contemporary on Saturdays for 2 hours; I learnt a few lifts and choreographies as well as more technique and movements.

I use dance as a way to express myself as I have had a rough few years, dance makes me feel happy and free and I love to perform to wide audiences. I love to choreograph my own pieces of dance and just simply perform them for my family and friends. I couldn't pick a favourite dancer but my favourites’ are Darcey Bussel,Margot Fonteyn,Natalia Ospiova,Ruldolf Nureyev and Maria Kochetkova.
