Monologue

I choose the famous Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare for my monologue, the scene I performed was Act 2,Scene 2.I had difficulty learning my lines however knowing my lines perfectly before, I believe my nerves got the better of me and I didn't deliver my performance to the best of my ability which did upset me as I know I could of done so much better.
In this monologue, Juliet is questioning the purpose of Romeo's name being Romeo and the monologue implies Juliet's fear that their love would end in failure due to Romeo being a Montague and herself a Capulet. The Capulets and Montagues are well known rival families who cause havoc with their feud in Verona and therefore their love is forbidden which eventually ends in death for the young lovers. Romeo and Juliet is a tragedy written in Shakespeare's early career which was adapted from The Tragical History of Romeos and Juliet poem by Arthur Brooke.
